I have been thinking a lot about how I want to do the blog in 2018. I do know for certain I want to do more & more personal posts…..that was always an ambition of mine for this website from the very beginning. My motto is all things “frugal fashion finances & fun.”
So this is the beginning of a tradition I want to work hard to maintain…..Fun Five (things) on Fridays. Things I did. Things I saw. Deals I got. OOTD. Anything for you.
So I hope you have some fun too! Here we go!
I missed a little bit in June because of my condo purchase/move (yay!) & also I really dealt with a lot of my recurring chronic health battles. The move was much more difficult than I anticipated & took a long time but I finally made it. I’m glad to be back to real life & in my normal routine & a little less stress! I can’t wait to share my adventures now as a home-owner & decorating & renovating some things in the move-in-ready space. The kitties got a kitty tree as a housewarming gift from grandma & they are loving it (yet not scratching ANY less on my couches, BTW!)
Raven & Panda
Last Friday Emily & I went to see “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” (documentary about Fred Rogers & how his iconic children’s show came to be). It’s only playing in select theaters & I read some mixed reviews online but that just proved to me you can’t trust everything you read on the internet! I loved it! Such a sweet story about a sweet gentleman.
Here is the official trailer:
Saturday I had a wonderful blogger lunch at Mr. B’s Gastro Pub in Royal Oak w/ some of my writer friends Metro Detroit Mommy, Redesigning Happiness, Mom Among Chaos, Yes/No Detroit, & Resourceful Mommy.
OK to me the word GASTRO PUB seemed a little weird, but wiki explains it well.
All of the food was so gourmet & handmade. I truly loved the apple cider marinaded (almost) 1 pound pork chop, but these chicken lettuce wraps just did me in! & there are many GF options so I can be comfortable bringing my sister.
& it is a fun place to bring your friends to play games as a break from your Royal Oak strollings!
The 4th of July was Red Wing’s birthday. I asked him what he wanted to do, I’d even take him somewhere fun & nice (last year we spent the day @ MGM Detroit) but he just wanted to spend a lazy day at home so that’s what we did! Steaks, fireworks, & his family.
For his birthday I got him a 6 month subscription to Geek Box. So that’ll be fun & right up his alley!
A few fun & frugal things for you this weekend!
