Punch Bowl Social Detroit is “Eatertainment”

I have heard so much about Punch Bowl Social in Detroit, I was so happy to finally check it out for myself to see what all of the buzz was about.

I first noticed that our hosts Jeri & Raymond were sure to keep their favorite drinks & food coming to us, and fast to share information with us & answer questions, especially for our gluten-free guests.

My first dinner experience was the PUNCH BOWLS (makes sense from the name, right?). While PBS does offer individual menu options, the setting is best suited for parties to mingle & share together. I actually really liked both of these drinks, but maybe the Shrubbery drink slightly won out for to be my favorite of the 2. & drinking from vintage dinner wares makes everything more fun & glamorous.

Drinks in hand, we toured the sights of PBS. Like the theme of the punch bowls, I could tell this was not a “normal” restaurant where one might just come for a lunch or even with just a date or a few friends (though that is possible with the diner-style seating staged throughout). PBS encourages reservations for a whole party experience. The Holiday Lodge cozy lounge & game area, karaoke rooms, small bowling alleys, 4 bars, & buffet-style tables, appetizers, & menu choices are able to be reserved & geared for groups of all kinds. Jeri has coordinated parties & events of all kinds & sizes. From a 5 person/1 hour karaoke party in a small room all the way to large (1,000 people) wedding & corporate holiday events. All of the rental pricing is available on the PBS website, & Jeri is also available to consult for the perfect party plan.

All of the wandering makes bloggers hungry, so we were served some of the menu favorites, buffet party style of course.

My favorites were the sweet maple & walnut chicken & waffles, cauliflower nachos, & the healthy & flavorful cheese & veggies on the Farmer’s Board.

For everyone not familiar with Detroit, the easiest place to park is the Z Garage Deck, since it is attached to PBS. The Compuware garage is nearby & a good Plan B.
